NDA Exam Eligibility:

In order to appear for NDA examination, the applicants must meet the following NDA exam eligibility criteria set by UPSC.

Nationality:

  •           > The candidate having Indian citizenship or being a citizen of Nepal or Bhutan.
  •           > A Tibetan refugee who moved to India prior to January 1, 1962, with the purpose of settling in India permanently.
  •           > A Person of Indian Origin (PIO) who has come from  East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam, or  Sri Lanka, Burma, Pakistan to India with the intention of becoming a permanent resident.

NOTE: All the candidates in the aforementioned categories, except Indian citizens, must produce an eligibility certificate that has been issued by the Indian Government. However, Gorkha subjects of Nepal are exempted from this rule.

Age limit, Gender & Marital Status:

  •           > For NDA-1: Only unmarried male candidates who are born between July 2, 2000, and July 1, 2003, are eligible to apply.
  •           > For NDA-II: Only unmarried male candidates who are born between January 2, 2001, and January 1, 2004, are eligible to apply.
  •           > Successful candidates are required to undertake to not get married until the completion of training.

NOTE: The commission will accept only the date of birth documented in the Matriculation/ Secondary School Examination Certificate (SSLC) or an equivalent certificate that has been approved by a recognized university on the date of application submission and no request for further change will be considered or granted.

NOTE:

  •           > Candidates appearing in 12th standard exams of 10+2 pattern or equivalent are also eligible to apply; however, failure to submit the original certificate leads to drop-out of application.
  •           > Candidates studying in 11th standard and who are debarred by the Ministry of Defence from holding any type of Commission in the Defence Services are considered ineligible for the exam.
  •           > Candidates who were unsuccessful in INSB / PABT in the past are ineligible for Air Force exam.

Physical Standards:

  •           > The candidates must fulfil the physical standards as per the guidelines devised by the UPSC to get admitted into National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination.
  •           > Also, a candidate who has resigned or withdrawn on disciplinary grounds from any of the training academies of Armed Forces is ineligible to apply.

Following a successful application, the candidates should undergo a medical examination in a command hospital.

RBI Grade B Eligibility Criteria:

The following requirements must be fulfilled by candidates who wish to apply for the RBI Grade B exam.

Nationality:

  •    > The candidate either should have Indian citizenship or should be a subject of Bhutan/ Nepal or a Tibetan refugee who arrived in India prior to January 1, 1962, (OR)
  •    > A person of Indian origin who has moved from Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Burma, East African countries of Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zaire and Vietnam with the intent of getting a permanent settlement in India.

Age limit: Between 21 and 30 years of age. The upper age limit is relaxable for reserved categories.

Educational Qualification:

The RBI Grade B Exam 2019 academic qualifications are as follows:

A minimum of 60% aggregate marks for all semester/ years (50% for SC/ST/PwBD) or an equivalent grade in Bachelor's degree and in 12th (or Diploma or equivalent) and 10th Standard examinations.

Grade B (DR)- DEPR

A) A Master's degree with at least 55% in Economics / Econometrics / Quantitative Economics / Mathematical Economics / Integrated Economics Course / Finance or an equivalent grade of an Indian or Foreign recognized University / Institute.

B) A 5% relaxation in marks is permitted for SC / ST / PWD applicants.

C) A Doctorate Degree in Economics / experience in research or teaching in Economics or publications in standard journals would be desired.

D) Applicants holding M.Phil. and Ph.D. in the specific subjects from an Indian or Foreign recognized University / Institute will be eligible for upper age relaxation by 2 years and 4 years respectively.

Grade B (DR)- DSIM

 

A) A Master's Degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Statistics & Informatics/ Mathematical Economics/ Econometrics from IIT-Kharagpur or Applied Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Bombay with minimum 55% aggregate marks in all semester/ years or equivalent grade.

B) Master's Degree in Mathematics with at least 55% aggregate marks or an equivalent grade in all semesters/years and a one-year postgraduate diploma in Statistics or related subjects from a reputed institution.

C) M. Stat. Degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in all semesters/years from Indian Statistical Institute.

D) Postgraduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) jointly provided by ISI Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur and IIM Calcutta with at least 55% aggregate marks in all semesters/years or equivalent grade.

NOTE: A 5% relaxation in marks is permitted for SC / ST / PWD applicants.

Candidates holding Ph.D. in the above subjects will be preferred.

Experience in research or teaching and publication in standard journals will be desired.

 

Maximum Number of attempts:

Candidates of General category, who have appeared six times for the Phase-I Exam, are considered ineligible. However, this restriction is not applicable to SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD.

RBI Grade B Exam Pattern:

The exam pattern of RBI Grade B (DR) - General differs from that of Grade B (DR) DEPR / DSIM.

To get successfully employed in RBI as a Grade B officer, the candidate has to go through three phases namely Phase-I, Phase-II, and Phase-III (round of interview).

Both Phase-I and Phase-II examinations take place through online mode. The medium of language would be English and Hindi; except the English language paper.

This exam is to screen the candidates for Phase-II exam. So, the scores from Phase-1 exam will not be included in the final score.

Interview round:

For the interview round, candidates will be selected based on the aggregate of marks acquired in Phase II (Paper I + Paper-II + Paper-III). The board will decide on the minimum aggregate cut-off marks to be selected for an interview; with respect to the vacancies available. The interview round carries 50 marks totally. Candidates can choose either in Hindi or English as a medium of language. The final selection will be made through the merit list which combines the scores of Phase-II examination and interview.
