SBI PO Eligibility Criteria:
Appearing for the State bank of India exam requires fulfilling the following eligibility criteria.
Nationality:
- The candidates must be an Indian citizen or a subject of Bhutan/Nepal or refugee of Tibet.
- A Person of Indian Origin who has migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the aim to become a permanent resident in India.

Educational Qualifications:
- The candidate should have passed graduation in any discipline (including Chartered Accountant) or equivalent from a recognized university.
- Final year students are also eligible to appear for the exam; given that they should produce the proof of passing their graduation at the time of their interview.
The maximum number of attempts:
- The number of attempts differs as per the candidate’s category.
- Candidates who have used up the maximum limits are ineligible to appear for SBI PO exam.
- The number of chances is counted from the examination held on/ after 18.04.2010.

Applying for the SBI PO exam includes three steps - Step-1, Step-2, and Step- 3.
Step-1: Registration
- Go to the official website: sbi.co.in
- Click the “Career” option on the same page.
- Select ‘SBI PO 2019 Application Form’ and click on “New Registration.”
- Fill up all the necessary details.
Step-2: Images upload
- Get ready within the image of your photo (passport size of 200 x 230 pixels) and signature (JPEG format of 140 x 60 pixels).
- Upload them in their respective filed.
- Then, click “Submit”: you will be redirected to another window for fees payment.
Step-2: Application fees payment
- Use your debit/credit card or net banking to pay your application fee.
- Print the application form before you submit for any references in the future.

SBI PO Exam Pattern
The State Bank of India PO exam is conducted in three stages namely preliminary, mains and group discussion/ activities and personal interview.
SBI PO Preliminary exam:
This is an online examination of objective type questions of total 100 marks. This exam has three sections and there is no sectional cut-off; the overall scores of all the sections are considered for the selection for the main examination. Correspondingly, 0.25 marks are deducted for each wrong answers. The section-wise marks have been tabulated below.

SBI PO Mains examination:

- 2. Descriptive test: This test consists of two sections namely Essay writing and letter writing of total 25 marks and with the duration of 30 minutes.
Group exercise/ personal interview:
The candidates who have sailed through both the prelims and mains will be further summoned for Group Discussion/ Personal Interview where the students will be questioned on their past experience, general awareness and knowledge of banking sector. The total marks for group exercise and personal interview are 20 marks and 30 marks respectively.
Final Selection:
Upon completion of all the three stages of selection, a final merit list will be released by the State Bank of India wherein the scores of mains and GD/ PI of the candidates are considered. A final cut-off mark will be announced on the basis of available vacancies and prepared merit list. Successful candidates will receive an appointment letter from SBI for the post of probationer officer.
