About Bank PO
A PO or a Probationary Officer is basically an Assistant Manager of Scale I in a bank. He is a Junior Manager of Grade I scale and hence called Scale I Officer. After the selection criteria is completed, a Probationary Officer has to go through an intensive training program at the Institute of Banking Management where they are trained. The probation period of a PO may last for 2 years. This again differs from bank to bank.
Role of a Bank PO
As the candidates selected for this post are young officers who have freshly graduated, they have great enthusiasm within themselves. They are hardworking and have a zest to learn and hence they are imparted with some really serious responsibilities by the bank.
A PO is trained on multiple verticals such as finance, accounting, billing, investment etc. during his/ her probation period in order to acquaint them with various working procedures of the bank. This is basically done by entrusting them with responsibilities and jobs in these categories.
The main purpose of the bank is to provide optimal service to its customers. A PO has to make sure that the business of the bank keeps on increasing by tending to the banks’ customers properly by handling customer complaints, addressing various customer related issues such as discrepancies in accounts, rectification of undue charges etc.
When they get acclimatized to the banks’ norms, they are provided with more serious responsibilities such as planning, budgeting, loan processing, investment management etc. Bank PO Exam.
Every year all the government as well as the private banks conduct Bank PO exams to recruit young officers. The major banks participating in this process are listed below:

The main exam among them is the SBI PO exam and the IBPS PO exam. Both of them have a large number of vacancies and eagerly look for young officers. The main thing to keep in mind is that every bank has their own selection criteria and their own set of papers. IBPS conducts a common written exam for the hiring of Probationary Officers (PO) in different public sector banks(PSU) and State Bank of India conducts a separate exam for the hiring of Probationary Officers (PO).

How to Apply
Step I. Register and get the registration number and password generated. Step II.Pay the fee of Rs. 500 (General & Others) or Rs. 100 (SC/ST/PWD) using either:
- Online Mode – through Debit / Credit cards or Internet Banking.
- Offline Mode - through any branch of SBI.
Fee payment is generally accepted from 2nd working day after registration and can be made within 3 working days at any branch of State Bank of India.
Salaries
PAY: The starting basic pay is Rs.16,900/-(with 4 increments) in the scale of Rs.14500-600/7-18700-700/2-20100-800/7-25700 applicable to Junior Management Grade Scale I. The official will also be eligible for D.A, H.R.A & C.C.A as per rules in force from time to time. The compensation per annum at Mumbai is around Rs.8,40,000/-. The break up of monthly compensation is as under:

IBPS PO Exam Pattern 2019
In the last few years, the IBPS exam (CWE 7) for hiring candidates will be held online. The exam will be in two parts: Tier 1 or IBPS Preliminary Exam and Tier 2 or IBPS Mains Exam. This examination is followed by an interview but in this year a major change in the Mains
Exam of IBPS PO 2018.The Paper is same like SBI PO 2018, IBPS has added descriptive paper in its mains exam.
IBPS PO Prelims Exam Pattern
The IBPS PO preliminary examination is of one hour duration and is conducted online. It has 3 sections with having 100 questions in total with a maximum score of 100 marks. There is negative marking in IBPS PO pre exam as 0.25 marks are deducted for every wrong answer. Candidates must clear the sectional cut-off to qualify for the IBPS PO Main exam. IBPS PO Mains Exam Pattern
This year the exam pattern of IBPS Mains is changed. IBPS has added descriptive paper in its mains exam The IBPO PO Main exam is also held online, it has 4 sections having a total score of 200 marks of 180 minutes duration and descriptive paper 1 sections having a total score of 25 marks of 30 minutes duration.
The IBPS exam will have 5 sections and the time limit for attempting each of the five sections is different, but the total time duration is 180 minutes for objective and 30 minutes for descriptive. The candidates must attempt the sections in the same order and within the allotted time fixed by the examining body. The candidate can’t leave the existing section before the time allotted. The next section can only be attempted after the current section is completed. There is a negative marking with a deduction of 0.25 marks for every mistake.

IBPS PO Mains Exam Syllabus 2019
This year the exam pattern of IBPS MAINS is changed. IBPS Probationary Officers (PO) Pre-Exam Training 2019
As per our expectation The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) will hold pre- exam training from September . It has also released the call letters for Probationary Officer (PO)/management trainees CWE PO/MT VII. One can download from the official website of IBPS
There will be a pre-exam training at various test centres across the country which will be held from September to October.
Who can attend Pre-examination training and how?
Pre-examination training is arranged by the Nodal Banks or Participating organizations for a limited number of aspirants who belong to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes/Minority Communities at select centres. Expenses such as traveling, boarding, lodging, etc have to be borne by the aspirants who are attending this training.
