Eligibility Criteria for SBI clerk exam:

A candidate appearing for the SBI clerk exam should fulfill the following eligibility criteria finalized by the SBI.

NOTE: Cumulative age relaxation is not applicable.

Educational qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in any stream or equivalent from a recognized university.
  • Students in their final year/ semesters are also eligible for the exam; on the condition of producing the evidence of passing their graduation at the time of the interview.
  • Applicants with an Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) certificate must make sure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before 31.08.2019 (for SBI Clerk 2019).

The maximum number of attempts:

Fortunately, SBI has not notified any restriction in terms of the number of attempts for appearing for the SBI clerk exam. This implies that a candidate can appear for the exam nth number of times till his upper age limit.

Other requirements:

  • Candidates who are non-payers of loans (except educational loan)/ credit card dues or those with adverse CIBIL reports or other external agencies are ineligible.
  • Candidates against whom there is/are adverse reports in regard to character & antecedents, moral turpitude is ineligible for the exam.
  • A former and present employee of SBI (either clerical or officer cadre) are also ineligible to apply.

The State Bank of India clerk exam is conducted in two phases namely preliminary and main examination.

SBI Clerk Preliminary exam:

This is an online examination of objective type questions of total 100 marks.
