The selection process for NDA involves a written examination followed by an interview by the Services Selection Board (SSB). Successful candidates receive training at NDA for three years, after which they go to specialized academies for further training before joining their respective service.
2. IMU (Indian Maritime University): IMU is a central university in India that offers various undergraduate and postgraduate courses related to the maritime sector. It provides education and training for careers in shipping, logistics, port management, naval architecture, marine engineering, etc.
After completing the 12th standard, students can pursue the following programs at IMU:
- Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Marine Engineering
- Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering
- Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Nautical Science
- Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS)
The admission to IMU is based on entrance examinations conducted by the university. The selection process may include a written test, an interview, and a medical examination.
